Media Initiative for Education for Non-Violence and Peace

The Eye Newspaper is an initiative for the promotion of democratic tolerance in the communities of Donga Mantung, in the north-west regions of Cameroon. It was created as a response to issues related to the 2013 municipal and legislative elections, where politics had become an instrument of precariousness of peace and destruction.

Through the program set up by this newspaper, many families have been publicly thanked for their efforts to promote tolerance in politics, which has helped rebuild the coexistence of different communities.

Women community radio program for a culture of peace, equality and reconciliation

PazalaMujer is an initiative of the “Red departamental de mujeres jóvenes del Atlántico”, Colombia. It was created as a response to the various acts of violence against women, the immersion of young women in street gangs and the wave of femicides.

PazalaMujer is a radio program, from the city of Barranquilla, created in 2017 as a tool of communication for participation of young women on the radio where they become protagonists to stimulate and make visible proposals for the construction of peace. Its non-discriminatory content and respect for women’s right to be free from violence include life stories, interviews, figures, opinions and reflections on the reality of women. These are living traces of our world, experiences of young women peacemaker.
