The Public Peace Prize (PPP) is awarded to seven finalists and recognizes all of their efforts and their undeniable contribution to peace in their countries.
This year, the public has presented a total of nine candidates from different corners of the planet: India, Burundi, Mexico, Pakistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Trinidad and Tobago, Colombia and Morocco.
For a second consecutive year, the Public Peace Prize advocates a more collaborative than competitive approach.
This 6th edition of the PPP has further innovated thanks to the creation of the Public Peace Prize Group / Prix du Public pour la Paix, specifically designed to provide visibility and public recognition to artisans and peacemakers worldwide. To this end, the finalists support teams were also invited to “like” the presentation of each nomination, in addition to theirs, to share it and especially to write comments of appreciation on the group and on our Facebook page:

People who do not have an account on Facebook were also asked to support the candidates directly with comments on our website at: https://publicpeaceprize.org/
___________
The Public Peace Prize (PPP) congratulates and notes the enthusiasm, courage, perseverance, dedication and determination of the true peace-builders, human rights activists, artists for peace and initiatives for peace social inclusion, empowerment or building social fabric. They focus their actions on groups of people of all ages in conditions of greater vulnerability. In many cases, they have become examples of resilience, resistance and dignity.
The PPP congratulates and recognizes them as peacemakers who carry out their work to challenge important issues in our world today. These issues have led our laureates to organize or take action to deal with poverty, economic marginalization or social exclusion, cultural or religious intolerance, fear, violence in their region, as well as serious and irreparable damage to the environment caused by resource extraction industries.
The PPP congratulates them for having succeeded in deconstructing these issues, proposing relations that favor ways of seeing the world with greater tolerance and dignity: education for peace and cooperation, reconciliation, social inclusion, interfaith dialogue, homeland defense and environmental protection, pluralist democracy, demilitarization, disarmament, and the defense of the lives of communities affected by violent conflict. They are building spaces to sow hope among people forced to cope with death, enforced disappearances and massacres perpetrated for decades. They are building new relationships between men and women on gender equality, respect, non-violence, non-discrimination, social justice and peace in a world in dire need.
The PPP honors and celebrates the work of an individual or initiative that has profoundly contributed to the culture of peace. This is not a cash prize, but an honorific distinction that encourages public recognition across borders. A souvenir plaque will be offered to each laureate at the end of this edition.
__________
The PPP would like to thank everyone who participated in this edition for their contribution to the visibility given to all peace initiatives.
