For the sixth consecutive year, the Public Peace Prize is receiving nominations of peacemakers and their initiatives for reconciliation, non-violence, justice, solidarity and peace, at a local, national or international level.
The Public Peace Prize (PPP) is the only distinction for world peace for which candidates are proposed nominated and supported by ordinary citizens of the world. It is the public’s mission to identify and find any person or initiative deserving to emerge from anonymity through their commitment for peace.
The PPP does not offer any financial reward, but since 2014, it has made a significant contribution to making 57 finalists and 38 laureates known around the world, thanks to public support on social media.
Inspiration for the Public Peace Prize comes from the deepest desire to offer a way to make peacemakers visible: an equal number of men and women, groups and communities who have worked anonymously during most of their existence to create conditions for peace and social justice, often at great personal risk.
For the second year, this prize’s collective and community vocation takes precedence over the competitive aspect.
The nomination period – when it will be possible to submit a complete candidacy file, including the formation of a support team – will last until July 31.
